Sleep is ignorance, awaken state is light

I have always had a lot of dream activity – in periods very clear and helpful messages I have used to guide myself through life. In this period where Im still in the Tibetan Dream and Sleep Yoga course, I had a dream some nights ago which I thought was interesting to write about. I look forward to my vacation in a week, where I will have enough sleep and probably also better dreams, because I then get more REM sleep. Im overall more curious about my own ignorance and “sleep” during night and day, than my actual dreams, but this dream had some important messages.

Dream

Someone aggressively blocked my throat with his hand and with his whole body pushed my body, we stood face to face, I didn’t feel afraid, I remember I said in my mind you cannot touch me and I have power(I felt my greenlandic power) I just stood there and kept my position and looked him in to his eyes letting him know I would continue my project (he was angry about a project I had started). Then a woman let me through all kinds of doors, some locked, some tiny, some very different, and in the end I entered a room (I thought I was going to a meeting) and I was greeted with beautiful energy and light, so friendly and loving….And greeted with hugs, smiles and joy and I was so surprised.

I will try to reflect from my course perspective..

My dream appeared to unfold a journey of spiritual strength, awareness, and passage into a deeper level of consciousness.

The first part of the dream presented a confrontation. A man aggressively blocks my throat and attempts to stop me from continuing a project. Rather than reacting with fear, I remained steady, grounded, and aware of my own power. Symbolically, the throat relates to communication, self-expression, truth, and the manifestation of one’s purpose. In Tibetan Dream Yoga, the throat chakra (Vishuddha) is considered the primary dream center. It governs the subtle internal winds and mental consciousness that create dreams, and meditation on this energy center can support lucid dreaming and greater awareness within the dream state. The attempt to block the throat may symbolize some sort of resistance to my authentic expression or to a deeper awakening of consciousness. But it could also represent that I in my daily life doesn’t offer myself enough of what I need, rest, sleep. I also feel that a part of me still doubt myself in some of the awakening proces , like Im not fully surrendering, I definitely feel it has to do with the final trust.

The second part of the dream introduces a female guide who leads me through a series of doors—some locked, some small, and some unusual. These doors can be understood as thresholds between different levels of awareness, growth, or spiritual understanding. Rather than forcing my way through, I am guided forward with trust. Throughout my life the divine has helped me so much, this is another pointer of the right path.

The dream culminates in a radiant room filled with light, love, warmth, and joy. I am welcomed with smiles, hugs, and a profound sense of belonging. In the context of Tibetan Dream Yoga, this can symbolize contact with the mind’s innate luminosity—its natural state of wisdom, compassion, and clarity. The sequence of the dream suggests a path of challenge, steadfastness, guidance, and ultimately recognition of a deeper spiritual support.

The dream may be that when I remain true to my purpose and do not allow fear or opposition to silence me, new doors open and lead me toward greater connection, guidance, and inner light.

“Whatever appears in dreams—pleasant or frightening—may I recognize my true nature, remain steady, and pass through every door with awareness and trust.”

Which place are you in?

Perhaps you grew up in a dysfunctional home or have experienced a lot of difficulties in life, traumas, heartache, pain and struggles you will need to tell yourself and especially your thoughts and thought patterns that life can be good, it can be gentle, loving, full of good people, where you feel safe and experience…

Gentle reminder

To live your life now, go after what you are longing and dreaming about, it doesn’t have to be the big things, it’s more a matter of being you. I have an old father with dementia and spending time with him reminds me to live now. His fading memory comes in waves, sometimes I think…
