Sometimes when we experience feelings as fear or anxiety, our mind can push it out in the back so we forget about it, but the feeling is stored in the body. When we enter an environment, where the senses remind of that experience it activates our nervous system and our body react on it. That’s why our body are so important in our healing, it helps us so point out where we can help ourself.
You can release it by feeling in to the tension in your body, as your body to guide you to the area. Take a deep breath, in through your nose, out through your mouth, close your eyes, go back to the last experience where your body was activated, keep breathing, allow your body to remember what it has stored in your past you were not able to deal with, perhaps fractions of memories will arise, perhaps you think you make up those memories, just breathe and continue to connect with your body, to your younger self, a specific time period, just close your eyes, you are safe to feel It now, breathe deeply.
what happens in your body now? do you sense something in your skin, remember you are there for yourself, breathe and continue, the feelings from the experience will start to show up, allow yourself to feel the feelings, perhaps you are afraid, feeling alone, ashamed, guilty, what are your feelings, remember you have your adult you to protect you, to help you, while you are feeling those feelings from the past, find a time in life, a situation where you felt empowered and strong and loved, when you feel it make it in to a symbol, a color, a gift and offer it to yourself from the past, perhaps you feel this specific gift is a quality you always have missed, like peace, clarity or safety
meet your younger self, perhaps you feel sorrow you have forgotten about yourself from that period, or that situation and left that younger self alone for all that time….be there for yourself, you are there with you, sometimes it takes a lot of courage to believe we are helped, especially from ourself when we have been left out in the darkness for so many years, abandoned, forgotten, afraid, that younger innocent part of you which has missed being part of your soul, be there for that part of yourself
help yourself in to the light, in to this moment, your current life, help yourself out of those forgotten places, when you invite those parts in to your life again, you become alive, you are able to change those patterns, because you’re not abandoning yourself anymore, you left yourself at a certain time, and one day we we find that missing piece of our soul and invite it in to our life again and start to feel more whole, more true
when we do that, we are able to leave those unhealthy patterns, people, situations in life, and meet our own needs, most important we start to love ourselves more deeply and more parts of ourself, we understand that we have achieved so much good in life, that we couldn’t imagine when we were younger, we are connecting our dots by meeting ourself in the forgotten places. As children ew cannot protect ourself, we need adults who do it, and when we dont have those adults in our life we put so much responsibility on those small shoulders, and ask a child to navigate the landscape alone.
The adults in our life can be so caught up in their own things, that they miss out their children and how they are doing, and what they are going through, my parents weren’t able to protect or help me, Im sure we are many who have had similar experiences. You can protect, help and be there for you and your younger self and start taking responsibility for your healing, and reconnection.
We heal and learn to love by making the unseen seen, until then we let the forgotten parts run our life. Think and feel with your heart.
Which place are you in?
Perhaps you grew up in a dysfunctional home or have experienced a lot of difficulties in life, traumas, heartache, pain and struggles you will need to tell yourself and especially your thoughts and thought patterns that life can be good, it can be gentle, loving, full of good people, where you feel safe and experience…
Gentle reminder
To live your life now, go after what you are longing and dreaming about, it doesn’t have to be the big things, it’s more a matter of being you. I have an old father with dementia and spending time with him reminds me to live now. His fading memory comes in waves, sometimes I think…
