Ástin Sem Eftir Er

The Icelandic title for the movie the Love that Remains, I watched it last weekend and although the theme was about a family going through a separation over a year, there was something about the visual way it was browsing through family life and experiences, image by image, it reminded me so much about authentic life and it reminded me about Greenland because there was so many similar nature sceneries, although the nature in Iceland is more soft and less raw than in Greenland, but this was not all about similar nature, it was about the simple way the camera was stationary and life was passing by in a sacred ordinary way…shedding old layers and accepting the new, our messy life, that the passing times and seasons can heal, lessons, expressing oneself through creative work and our daily work, connections and isolation, the beauty of dailylife. A very touching movie.
